Job Overview:
A nationally respected defense litigation firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its St. Louis, MO office. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys in the early stages of their career to gain courtroom experience and hands-on involvement in all phases of complex litigation. The firm focuses heavily on toxic tort defense and other high-exposure civil litigation matters. Location:

• St. Louis, Missouri

Duties:

• Manage a caseload of litigated claims, developing tailored defense strategies

• Attend and participate in depositions, hearings, and mediations

• Draft motions, discovery responses, and client communications

• Conduct legal research and analyze discovery materials, medical records, and expert opinions

• Investigate witnesses, worksites, and case-related facts

• Collaborate with a national team of attorneys on complex litigation matters

Requirements:

• 0–4 years of experience in civil litigation (toxic tort experience is a plus)

• Strong interest in litigation and trial work

• Experience drafting discovery and pre-trial motions

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting

• Detail-oriented with a proactive, client-focused approach

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

• Strong academic credentials preferred

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in Missouri and Illinois (required)

• In good standing with respective state bars

Skills:

• Excellent legal writing, analytical, and communication skills

• Substantial deposition experience (preferred)

• Strong organizational and time-management abilities

• Self-starter capable of balancing competing deadlines

• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently
