Duties:

• Analyze client needs and develop strategic legal action plans to solve complex family law issues.
• Draft legal pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and other necessary legal documents.
• Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings.
• Attend court proceedings to represent clients and ensure their interests are protected.
• Consult with potential clients, assess their needs, and determine the next steps for legal action.
• Collaborate with the Managing Attorney and other legal staff to move cases through the litigation process efficiently.
• Manage a high volume of family law cases and ensure timely progress on each matter.
• Ensure all legal work is reviewed for accuracy, legal precedent, and clarity.
• Keep client files organized and up to date, maintaining clear and consistent communication with clients.

Requirements:

• At least 4 years of family law experience.
• Active South Carolina Bar License.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, particularly in high-stress, emotionally charged situations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other attorneys and legal staff in a team environment.
• Ability to independently solve complex legal issues and develop creative strategies for clients.
• A compassionate and client-centered approach to legal representation.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in South Carolina.

Certifications:

• Active South Carolina Bar membership (required).
• Membership in the American Bar Association (ABA) is a plus.

Skills:

• Expertise in family law, with a strong understanding of divorce, custody, and marital asset division.
• Excellent legal drafting, research, and case management skills.
