Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly motivated Supervising Attorney to join its Workers' Compensation team in Burbank, CA. The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Partner and will be supported by a team of paralegals and support staff. This role involves guiding and mentoring senior attorneys, participating in trial activities, and ensuring departmental goals are met.

Duties

• Assist the Managing Partner with client educational webinars and bulk settlement conferences.
• Evaluate case value and provide guidance on complex cases.
• Hold regular meetings with associates and mentor senior attorneys.
• Authorize settlements and advise on increased demands during negotiations.
• Respond to client inquiries and provide direction to non-attorneys.
• Participate in trials and attend hearings as needed.
• Assist associates with challenging client interactions.
• Lead by example and participate in team events.
• Provide feedback to management for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 8-12 years of Workers' Compensation experience required.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience in both Applicant and Defense Workers' Compensation preferred.
• Must be in good standing with the California State Bar.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

• Active membership with the California State Bar.
