The candidate provides direct representation to detained or locally released immigrants as required or permitted by current funding contract(s). Reviews legal screenings conducted by shelter services departments and reviews and assigns follow-up services, including additional interviewing, referrals to other legal services providers and advocates, or in- house representation. Regularly appears in immigration court to represent clients in removal proceedings and to act as Friend of Court for other detained youth as appropriate. Assists with tracking and developing legal training needs for legal and shelter services department staff. Accesses, processes, and ensures the confidentiality and control of client information. Monitors case activities and maintains the data integrity of case management systems. Performs other related duties as required.
