Job Overview: A national litigation defense firm is seeking an experienced junior partner to join their San Diego office. The firm specializes in defending trucking companies in accident claims, managing cases from pre-suit investigation through trial and appeal. This is an excellent opportunity to engage in high-exposure, complex litigation involving depositions, motion practice, hearings, and trials. The firm’s clients include Fortune 100 companies, top-rated insurance companies, and closely-held businesses.

Location:

• San Diego, CA

Duties:

• Represent clients in complex litigation matters related to trucking accident claims

• Manage cases from pre-suit investigation through trial and appeal

• Take depositions, handle motion practice, and represent clients in hearings and trials

• Work closely with clients, including Fortune 100 companies, top insurance firms, and closely-held businesses

• Develop and implement legal strategies for high-exposure lawsuits

• Collaborate with senior attorneys and team members to manage case load and deadlines

• Supervise and mentor junior associates and staff

Requirements:

• Proven experience in litigation, particularly in trucking or accident-related claims

• Strong knowledge of litigation processes from investigation through trial

• Ability to handle high-exposure, complex lawsuits with minimal supervision

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-management skills

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

• Active membership in the State Bar

Certifications:

• State Bar membership in good standing (California preferred)

Skills:

• Litigation experience, especially in personal injury or trucking defense

• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills

• Ability to take depositions and manage discovery

• Trial experience is preferred

• Client communication and relationship-building skills

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
