A law firm in Richmond, VA is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Managed Care Litigation Associate Attorney. The successful candidate will bring 2-3 years of law firm or relevant in-house experience in complex commercial litigation and arbitration, with a specific focus on managed care or health care. The role requires excellent academic credentials, strong writing, research, analytical, and verbal communication skills. The attorney will be responsible for managing multiple cases, overseeing regulatory and compliance matters, and serving as the primary contact for litigation and client counseling.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and litigate cases related to managed care and health care.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing legal advice and coordination.
• Handle and oversee regulatory and compliance matters, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
• Conduct thorough legal research and prepare detailed legal documents and pleadings.
• Develop and implement litigation strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys.
• Represent clients in court, arbitration proceedings, and settlement negotiations.
• Provide significant case management and client counseling.
• Coordinate with other associates and staff to ensure effective case management and client service.
• Stay current on changes in relevant laws and regulations affecting managed care and health care.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing of the California State Bar.
• 2-3 years of law firm or relevant in-house experience in complex commercial litigation and arbitration.
• Experience with managed care or health care issues is required.
• Proven ability to handle multiple cases and manage regulatory or compliance matters.
• Strong skills in client counseling and case management.
