The candidate will be responsibile for maintaining a large caseload which may include: Interviewing prospective clients; analyzing their legal problems; rendering legal advice; negotiating with opposing parties and agencies; preparing and submitting documents for clients; representing clients in various phases of litigation; attending community meetings; developing positive relationships with client communities; developing complex litigation; finding solutions to broader client problems through litigation; policy development or other strategies. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Organized and detailed. Ability to assume responsibility quickly. Ability to work independently as well as support team efforts. Ability to strategize and plan ahead to timely and consistently meet grant deliverables and reporting requirements. Must be able to interact with a wide array of the client population in a kind and appropriate manner. Active membership in the State Bar of California or member of the Bar of another state and willing to take the California Bar at the next available opportunity or J.D degree from an accredited law school.
