Duties

• Manage active cases, including appearances, discovery, motions, and trial preparation.
• Assist senior litigators with complex legal and factual research and case strategy formulation.
• Prepare and review pleadings, discovery, motions, and briefs.
• Supervise and assist with document review for eDiscovery and Public Records Act requests.
• Support transactional and board practice for public agency clients, primarily water agencies.

Requirements

• Minimum two years of litigation experience; four years preferred.
• Ability to manage a case from filing to trial, including all phases of litigation.
• Familiarity with California public agency law is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to work as part of a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.

Education

• Juris Doctor and license to practice in California.

Certifications

• License to practice law in California.

Skills

• Proficiency with Westlaw, Deadline Assistant, Everlaw, and ShareFile is preferred.
• Resourcefulness and adaptability in problem-solving.
