Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm based in Farmington Hills, MI, is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney licensed in Connecticut to join its expanding Creditors' Rights practice. The role involves courtroom and virtual appearances, legal drafting, and reviewing pleadings. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong sense of professional responsibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a dynamic, high-volume environment.

Duties:

• Represent clients through in-person and virtual court appearances

• Draft, review, and sign legal pleadings and correspondence

• Provide strategic legal opinions in the context of creditors' rights

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely case progression

• Manage a high volume of cases under strict deadlines

• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and court personnel

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in Connecticut

• Willingness to appear in court and manage litigation independently

• Experience in creditor representation preferred, but not required

• Admittance to additional bars such as Delaware, Michigan, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maryland, or D.C. is advantageous

• Availability to work full-time in a structured and deadline-driven setting

• Must pass background screening and drug testing before employment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Connecticut State Bar in good standing

• Additional State Bar admissions are considered a plus

Skills:

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational capabilities

• Effective multitasking and time management skills

• Strong oral and written communication abilities

• Team-oriented mindset and collaborative attitude

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Familiarity with Cogent collection software is beneficial
