Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Finance Associate to join its Venture and Growth subgroup in New York, NY, or any of its California offices, including Los Angeles, Palo Alto, San Francisco, and San Diego. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years of experience in lender-side representation for commercial finance matters, with a preference for those who have represented banks or private credit funds in loans to technology, life sciences, or middle market companies. Admission to practice in the relevant jurisdiction is required.

Duties

• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
• Draft well-reasoned legal documents, including briefs, motions, and contracts.
• Assist in managing complex cases and transactions from inception to resolution.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional support and advice.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative case strategies.
• Participate in high-level legal activities such as court hearings and negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with legal standards and stay updated on legal precedents.
• Engage in professional development to enhance legal and leadership skills.
• Contribute to firm programs, civic organizations, and pro bono work.

Requirements

• Minimum of four years of relevant experience.
• Experience with AmLaw 100 firm preferred.
• Admitted to practice in the state of office location.

Education

• JD degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice in the state in which they are officing.
