Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Plaintiff Bad Faith Attorney to join their Litigation team in Boca Raton, Florida. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in first-party property insurance and/or personal injury bad faith litigation, with the ability to identify, develop, and preserve bad faith and coverage issues from the trial court record through appeal.

Duties

  • Handle all aspects of bad faith and coverage disputes, including strategic planning and motions practice.
  • Provide on-site legal trial support to attorneys during court proceedings.
  • Meet with attorneys to review drafts of substantive filings and responses.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analyze complex legal issues.
  • Collaborate with trial attorneys to develop litigation and appellate strategies.
  • Draft clear, persuasive legal briefs and memoranda.
  • Present oral arguments before state and federal courts.
  • Stay current on legal developments in Florida appellate and insurance law.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior attorneys and legal staff.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
  • Preferred: 5+ years of experience in plaintiff appellate litigation or significant experience with bad faith insurance litigation.
  • Familiarity with Florida's bad faith statutes and related regulatory framework.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent oral advocacy skills with experience arguing cases before appellate courts.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Commitment to ethical practice and client advocacy.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
