A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a highly experienced Privacy & Cybersecurity Counsel to join its U.S. Data Protection and Privacy practice. This role is ideal for attorneys with 3–7 years of legal experience advising clients on compliance with federal, state, and international privacy laws, including GDPR. The focus of this role is proactive privacy counseling, with opportunities to support complex regulatory matters, product counseling, and cross-border data strategy.

Advise clients on U.S. state and federal privacy laws such as CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, COPPA, TCPA, and the FTC Act
Provide guidance on GDPR and international data protection requirements
Develop, assess, and implement privacy compliance programs and data governance frameworks
Draft and negotiate data protection agreements, vendor contracts, and data sharing arrangements
Support corporate transactions through privacy-focused due diligence
Guide clients on digital privacy matters related to AI, adtech, mobile apps, and data monetization
Counsel clients on cross-border data transfers, data localization, and global harmonization strategies
Assist with regulatory investigations, consumer complaints, and enforcement actions
Collaborate with cybersecurity professionals during incident response and notification efforts
Conduct privacy tabletop exercises and review incident response plans
Minimum of 3–7 years of experience practicing privacy law
Deep knowledge of U.S. federal and state privacy regulations
Experience in GDPR and cross-border data privacy frameworks preferred
Demonstrated ability to advise clients independently and manage complex legal matters
Strong drafting and negotiation experience related to privacy and security terms
Comfortable working with clients in tech, healthcare, financial services, or other regulated sectors
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school
Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
CIPP/US, CIPT, or related privacy certification preferred
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage and advise on privacy-related legal issues across business units
Skilled in contract negotiation, compliance documentation, and regulatory engagement
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client matters simultaneously
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
