A law firm seeks a mid-to-senior-level Associate in Washington, DC, to join the Patent Prosecution and Litigation Practice Group on the Electrical Engineering and Software Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in intellectual property, particularly in drafting and patent prosecution.

Duties

• Draft and prosecute patent applications.
• Collaborate with clients on patent strategy and portfolio management.
• Conduct legal research and analysis in support of patent litigation.
• Participate in client meetings and provide legal advice.

Requirements

• 4 to 7 years of relevant experience.
• Licensed to practice law or eligible for licensing in the state of employment.
• Member of the USPTO.
• Experience with AI/machine learning, software design, semiconductors, and medical devices is a plus.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities.

Education

• Background in computer science, electrical engineering, or similar field.

Certifications

• USPTO membership.
