Duties:

• Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and supporting documentation

• Represent clients at court hearings, depositions, and mediations

• Independently manage a diverse caseload from inception through resolution

• Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates, strategy discussions, and case evaluations

• Collaborate with colleagues across practice groups and offices to ensure effective case management

• Develop and implement litigation strategies based on case facts and legal research

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school

• Active license to practice law in North Carolina

• Minimum of 2 years of defense-side litigation experience

• Background working on matters involving general liability, premises liability, products liability, transportation, employment, or insurance issues is preferred

• Skilled in drafting discovery documents and pre-trial motions

• Familiarity with managing all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, and motion practice

• Prior trial experience or handling court appearances is a plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the North Carolina State Bar (active and in good standing)

Skills:

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong legal writing and oral advocacy abilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proficiency with legal research tools and case management systems

• Excellent time management and organizational skills

• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
