Senior Counsel
The candidate will support our fast-paced fixed annuity, fixed-indexed annuity, and securities-based annuity and life product development efforts as well as current SEC and state product filings. Will provide expertise on legal issues related primarily to the development, marketing, and on-going compliance of registered index-linked annuities, variable annuities and variable life insurance issued in non-qualified and qualified markets. Should be familiar with the SEC registration and state insurance filing process requirements applicable to these products including SEC filings on Forms S1, N4 and N6. Respond to requests for legal counsel from Operations, Product, Tax, Compliance and firm’s broker/dealer as well as provide expertise relating to other regulatory issues associated with insurance products. Should have Law degree from accredited university and current license to practice law. Must have 5+ years practicing in relevant insurance and securities law. Knowledge of other insurance products is a plus. Knowledge of broker-dealer operations is also a plus.
