Temporary Hearing Officer
The candidate should have active license to practice law in Nebraska, familiarity with the rules of evidence and experience with appellate work, don't miss out on this opportunity. Examples of Work: Conduct administrative hearings pursuant to the Administrative Procedure Act. Administer oaths, question witnesses, rule on motions and admissibility of evidence. Analyze evidence and applicable statutes, regulations, and case law to reach proper conclusions. Prepare written orders. Consult with decision maker regarding proposed orders. Must have 2 years' experience as an attorney practicing law and providing legal services such as preparing cases, advising clients, and/or interpreting laws and/or administrative policies. Should preferably have Juris Doctorate degree and admitted to practice law in the State of Nebraska. Ability to research the law and write legal opinions is desired. Should preferably have Judicial clerk or trial experience. Strong writing abilities. Excellent communication and legal research and writing skills; thorough knowledge of the rules of evidence; skill in applying the law and evaluating evidence; trial and appellate experience preferred.
