Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced associate attorney in New York to join its Alternative Asset Opportunities practice group. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 6 years of legal experience advising on complex transactions across various alternative asset classes, including private equity, credit, real estate, venture capital, and infrastructure.

Duties

  • Advise clients on complex transactions involving alternative asset classes.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate transactional documents such as purchase and partnership agreements.
  • Conduct due diligence and risk assessment for transactions.
  • Provide legal advice on regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.
  • Represent clients in negotiations to protect their interests.
  • Assist in structuring and executing secondary market transactions.
  • Advise on fund formation and structuring for private equity and venture capital funds.
  • Stay current with industry trends and legal developments.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Mentor and supervise junior attorneys.
  • Participate in business development activities.
  • Prepare and present legal opinions and memoranda on complex issues.

Requirements

  • 2 to 6 years of legal experience in alternative asset transactions.
  • Strong knowledge of private equity, credit, real estate, venture capital, and infrastructure.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of professionalism and ability to work collaboratively.

Education

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
