Legal Assistant-Default Services
The candidate will be responsible for performing duties utilizing legal terminology, procedures, and documents. May also conduct research to support a legal proceeding. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the following essential functions: Draft and file motions and pleadings in connection with judicial foreclosure lawsuits. Maintain attorney’s calendar; coordinate hearing and mediation schedules. Assist with discovery requests. Maintain databases of case materials and information. Assist with maintenance of files, including individual case correspondence. Act as point of contact when Attorney is unavailable; direct issues to Attorney. Prepare correspondence as needed. Open files and set up accordingly to ensure all appropriate documentation is included. Close out files when appropriate. Prepare bills and submit in a timely manner. Assist with all other administrative needs including copying, filing, taking dictation, etc. Should have 7-10 years of experience in a legal support capacity. Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment. Should preferably have 15+ years of office support experience.
