A prominent law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Corporate M&A Associate Attorney to join its growing corporate practice group based in Chicago. This role is ideal for candidates with significant experience handling mergers and acquisitions for both private and public companies. The position emphasizes principal acquisition agreement drafting and direct negotiation responsibilities. The selected attorney will play a key role in high-profile transactions and complex deal structures within a collaborative and hybrid work environment.

Duties

• Manage and execute M&A transactions for private and public companies

• Draft and negotiate principal acquisition agreements

• Handle complex cross-border transactions and global corporate restructurings (preferred)

• Work closely with clients to provide strategic and transaction-specific advice

• Collaborate with legal and business teams to structure, document, and close deals

• Deliver timely and high-quality legal work and documentation

• Participate in internal meetings and client discussions as required

Requirements

• 3–6 years of experience in M&A transactions involving private and public companies

• Direct experience from a large law firm (AmLaw 100 preferred)

• Admitted to practice law in Illinois

• Strong background in corporate law and transactional matters

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from a nationally recognized, ABA-accredited law school

• Strong academic record required

Certifications

• Active Illinois Bar membership (required)
