Manager of Strategic Partnerships
As Manager of Strategic Partnerships, you will engage directly with POWER’s clients and technology partners to facilitate the development of innovative solutions for tomorrows energy grid. Through your relationships, you will report industry trends to POWER, identify opportunities for innovation, and build internal/external innovation teams. You will report to the VP of Innovation to develop company strategy around innovation focus and company direction. Roles and Responsibilities
As Manager of Strategic Partnerships, you will have the following roles and responsibilities:
Directing and Forming Strategic Relationships
Client engagement is critical to solving our mutual problems. As Manager of Strategic Partnerships, you will identify and monitor industry trends and align them with POWERs innovation goals to develop relationships that engage clients to achieve mutual success.
Industry Trend Analysis
Work closely with clients, technology companies, startups, academia, and other sources to identify and monitor industry challenges and trends. Develop and implement a process to collect industry trend data, and report trends to POWER leadership to help drive innovation focus and investment.
Matchmaker/Networker
Identify opportunities to match solutions (people, process, technology) with client/industry challenges. Where appropriate, take ownership of technology partner relationships.
Innovation Strategy
Work directly with VP of Innovation and develop strategy around innovation initiatives.
Identify Opportunities for Innovation Events
Identify opportunities to jointly host innovation events with client/industry partners to strengthen relationships and innovate together. Work with innovation event teams to communicate goals and objectives and serve as event “sponsor”. Events may include, but not limited to, Innovation tournaments, Hack-a-thons, “STEAM” Events, Workshops, Community Events, Start-up Competitions, Conference Events, Pitch Competitions, etc.
Innovation Presentations and Thought Leadership
Lead or moderate internally and externally directed presentations focused on industry trends, emerging technology, global/national/regional initiatives, and new and innovative solutions developed, or being studied, by POWER and client/industry partners. Where appropriate, provide thought leadership through committee membership, publication, social media presence, conference attendance, etc.
Cross Divisional, Client Manager Advisor
Work closely with POWERs client managers across all divisions to educate them regarding our innovation mission, current innovation projects, innovation message, results, and approach. Establish framework and lead communication with Client Managers.
Innovation Messaging
Develop client directed innovation messaging and guide Corporate Communications team for broadly distributed content.
Required Experience
Five (5) years’ experience within an engineering / architectural / environmental services firm.

Industry Knowledge
You have a good understanding of Energy Industry and can communicate industry challenges to internal and external partners.
Communication Skills
You can shepherd ideas from the visionary stage and communicate ideas to POWERs innovation research teams. Strong communication skills are necessary to collaborate with employees, technology partners and clients. You must be comfortable presenting or moderating in front of small and large groups.
Analytical Skills
You will use market trends, emerging technology trends and customer data to identify innovation opportunities.
Innovation Methodologies
Ideally, you have knowledge of Design Thinking, Agile, Lean methodologies. If you don’t have formal training in these areas, don’t worry, we will train you.
