A growing law firm is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with at least 4 years of experience in construction litigation and insurance defense. This position offers the opportunity to manage a diverse caseload and engage in various practice areas including construction and general insurance defense. Location:

Duties:

• Manage litigation matters involving construction and general insurance defense.
• Draft pleadings, motions, orders, and legal memoranda.
• Prepare and respond to written discovery and dispositive motions.
• Conduct legal research and analysis efficiently.
• Prepare and take depositions of parties and experts.
• Review client documents and draft case evaluations and status report correspondence.
• Oversee cases from inception through trial.
• Participate in mediations, court appearances, and client meetings.
• Work directly with clients, opposing counsel, claim professionals, colleagues, and support staff.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in construction litigation and/or insurance defense.
• Must be licensed to practice law in New York; additional state bar memberships (e.g., New Jersey) are a plus.
• Strong legal research and analytical skills.
• Proficient in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
• Experience with depositions and trial preparation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple cases efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of both state and federal court procedures.
• Proficient with MS Office, including Excel and Outlook, and able to navigate the internet.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the New York State Bar (required).
• Additional state bar admissions (e.g., New Jersey) are preferred.

Skills:

• Strong litigation and trial preparation experience.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proficiency with MS Office and case management tools.
