A law firm is seeking a compassionate and innovative Family Law Attorney to join its team in Washington. Location:

  • Seattle, WA

Duties:

  • Handle a variety of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, child support, and property division.
  • Represent clients in court and attend required in-person appearances.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Meet clients in-office upon request, offering legal advice and updates on case progress.
  • Collaborate with paralegals, fellow attorneys, and administrative staff to ensure efficient case handling.
  • Attend mediation and settlement conferences to negotiate favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Maintain excellent client communication, fostering trust and providing timely updates.
  • Stay current on legal developments and trends in family law to provide effective representation.
  • Perform other duties and projects as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in family law.
  • Active admission to the Washington State Bar and in good standing.
  • Exceptional writing skills demonstrated through writing samples.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex legal issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple priorities.
  • A client-focused mindset, dedicated to delivering exceptional client experiences.
  • Strong professional references attesting to legal expertise and professionalism.
  • Experience practicing in Pierce, King, Snohomish, Thurston, Island, and Skagit counties preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Washington State Bar Association (required).
  • Additional certification or bar membership in other states is a plus.

Skills:

  • Proven experience in handling family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and property division.
  • Strong legal writing skills, with the ability to craft clear and persuasive legal documents.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the capacity to balance multiple cases and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all legal documentation.
  • Strong negotiation and mediation skills to advocate effectively for clients.
  • Willingness to work evenings or weekends when necessary to handle urgent matters or deadlines.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and legal deadlines.
