A law firm in Minneapolis is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will be results-driven, possess excellent communication skills, and have experience in or a desire to become experienced in the consumer collection industry.

Job Overview:

The Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing thorough assessments and practical advice while advocating for clients during the legal collection process. They will draft legal documents, communicate with clients, handle litigation, and stay updated on legal changes through continuing education.

Duties:

• Advocate for clients in and out of court during the legal collection process
• Communicate with opposing counsel and pro se parties to negotiate resolutions
• Draft and review legal briefs, correspondence, pleadings, and other documents
• Document account/file activity in accordance with firm and client policies
• Handle all aspects of a case's litigation life cycle, including court appearances
• Research and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations
• Maintain and further develop client relationships through responsive communication
• Attend continuing education classes to stay informed of legal changes
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Experience in consumer collection litigation preferred
• Knowledge of civil litigation process and state and federal consumer protection laws
• Superior time management skills and ability to manage priorities effectively
• Leadership skills and ability to motivate other employees
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Education:

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

Admission to the Minnesota State Bar
