Associate Director/Director, Privacy Counsel
Duties: Serve as the internal privacy expert and guide the Company in designing privacy-related policies, processes, contract language and solutions, and advise the Company on privacy-related matters. Ensure company compliance with evolving US and ex-US privacy laws including but not limited to, HIPAA, GDPR and CCPA. Prepare and deliver education and training to the Company on data privacy to ensure understanding of privacy requirements. Lead the Company’s response to any privacy inquiries or data subject rights requests and collaborate with cross functional teams to respond in a timely manner. Review contracts with third parties that involve sharing or managing personal information to ensure appropriate privacy contractual language. Partner with IT to develop and maintain a comprehensive document retention policy and related processes. Partner with IT and other internal functions to evaluate new products, platforms, vendors, features, and processes to ensure appropriate privacy protections are taken. Perform Impact Assessments to identify and mitigate privacy risks resulting from data processing activities. Regularly audit and monitor company activities to ensure company compliance with applicable data privacy requirements. Develop and maintain internal processes to document privacy related inquires, incidents, initiatives, activities, and audits. Provide other general data privacy and cybersecurity compliance support of Company activities.
