Profile
The candidate will conduct legal and policy analysis of federal legislative and administrative proposals. Engage in federal advocacy and lobbying before Congress and relevant administrative agencies. Represent the firm in coalitions and at external meetings with other stakeholders to identify and advance policy goals. Draft a variety of written materials, including reports, fact sheets, regulatory comments, legislative testimony, etc.. Support litigation efforts to advance workplace justice, including contributing to amicus briefs and potentially representing clients in negotiations and litigation addressing workplace rights. Collaborate on and provide support for efforts to advance progressive state and local workplace antidiscrimination policies. Help shape program strategies and priorities in collaboration with the broader Education & Workplace Justice team. Monitor relevant legal trends in the Supreme Court and lower courts. Use project management strategies to coordinate with key the firm staff to strategically and collectively further the firm's work. Represent the firm in the press and in public speaking opportunities. Other duties as assigned. Law degree and 2-5 years of relevant experience is required. Experience in workplace policy and/or antidiscrimination law, whether through litigation, legislative advocacy, teaching, etc. is required. Membership in the DC Bar is required.
