Responsibilities: As an information and technology leader of the firm, be actively engaged in technology matters with firm management, practice group leaders, practice groups, lawyers, paralegals, and staff management. Ensure all firm personnel understands: the firm’s current technological capabilities, including without limitation for client service, revenue production, professional development, internal efficiency, and plans for new and improved technological capabilities. Stay current with the state of technology in the legal marketplace, leading law firms, and the firm’s primary competition. Focus on opportunities that will improve the firm’s technological capabilities. Evolve IT&S’s operational efficiency and system capabilities by enhancing core IT&S processes to keep systems stable and up-to-date, and synchronize IT&S with the firm’s expectations. Develop and maintain a strategic program for the firm's technology future that is aligned with, and supports the firm's strategic plan and budget. Identify opportunities for strategic technology investments for client service and revenue enhancement. Develop information technology financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; aligning monetary resources; developing budgets and action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; monitoring and minimizing the impact of capital and operating budgets and variances. Maintain an efficient organizational structure and ensure all positions are staffed with exceptionally qualified personnel. Maintain individual roles and duties that are well-defined and provide depth and cross-coverage. Ensure that the IT&S is operationally aligned with the Firm’s culture and values, with a commitment to continual improvement. Align IT&S teams and processes to ensure effective delivery of services to the firm by developing process flows to align IT&S with ITIL, ITSM fundamentals, and industry-standard processes. Provide appropriate supervision of staff members to ensure their work is of high quality; they have established goals or milestones with clear deadlines, and are held accountable for progress. Promote innovation and a service-oriented mindset that places emphasis on integrity and honoring commitments. Work closely with Senior IT&S personnel; maintain current awareness of their work project status, issues, problems, concerns, needs, etc. Collaborate on systems and applications projects. Be available for after-hours work and consultation. Ensure all technology risks for the firm are closely monitored and communicated to management. Ensure corresponding plans, controls, and resources are in place to protect the firm from these risks, including without limitation, disaster prevention and recovery, cyber security, and privacy. Exploit the full capabilities of technology through a technology education program that provides learning opportunities where personnel will be able to enhance the firm’s competitive edge and revenues by improving the delivery and efficiency of client service.
