Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Removal and Bond Attorney based in New Jersey. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work both remotely and in-person, requiring residency in New Jersey for court appearances and client meetings. The position is full-time, with a minimum of 45 hours per week.

Duties

• Represent clients in EOIR removal and bond hearings.
• File motions, briefs, and appeals before EOIR, BIA, and federal courts.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with detained clients and their families.
• Participate in AOS interviews and SIJS hearings.
• Develop innovative litigation strategies based on in-depth legal research.
• Collaborate with case managers and legal assistants to build strong cases.
• Maintain organized, timely, and compliant case records and deadlines.

Requirements

• Licensed attorney in any U.S. state (New Jersey preferred).
• 1-3 years of experience in removal defense and bond representation (strongly preferred).
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (highly preferred).
• Based in New Jersey with the ability to appear in person for court and client meetings.
• Strong writer, confident litigator, and tireless advocate.
• Deeply aligned with immigrant rights and social justice.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Bar membership in any U.S. state (New Jersey preferred).
