Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm based in Portland, OR, is seeking an experienced litigation associate to join its dynamic commercial litigation team. Duties:

• Handle a broad range of commercial litigation matters from inception to resolution

• Provide support on high-stakes, multi-party litigation in federal and state courts

• Draft and argue motions, including dispositive and procedural filings

• Conduct and manage discovery, including depositions, interrogatories, and requests for production

• Develop litigation strategy and offer practical, client-focused legal advice

• Represent clients in court appearances, arbitrations, mediations, and negotiations

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and effective case management

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legal developments and procedural rules

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience in a law firm or similar legal setting

• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage multiple case deadlines

• Experience with both Oregon and Washington court systems preferred

• Strong understanding of procedural and substantive legal principles related to commercial disputes

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in Oregon

• Washington Bar admission is highly preferred, or a willingness to obtain it

Skills:

• Excellent legal research and analytical thinking skills

• Persuasive written and oral communication abilities

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills

• Proficiency in litigation software tools and the Microsoft Office Suite

• Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive and solution-oriented approach
