Duties
Manage all aspects of assigned collection matters from initiation through resolution
Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery
Represent clients in court proceedings across Minnesota jurisdictions
Negotiate settlements and payment arrangements with opposing counsel and debtors
Conduct legal research to inform case strategies and ensure regulatory compliance
Maintain accurate documentation in legal case management systems
Communicate with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel professionally and promptly
Adhere to client guidelines, internal policies, and compliance standards
Collaborate with litigation support, compliance, and internal legal teams
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in collections, civil litigation, or creditors’ rights law
Strong knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and Minnesota-specific consumer laws
Ability to manage multiple active cases and meet strict deadlines
Experience with legal research tools and litigation software platforms
High attention to detail and commitment to professional standards
Education
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications
Active and in good standing with the Minnesota State Bar (required)
Additional state bar admissions are a plus
Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
