Vice President, Chief Litigation Counsel
Duties: Setting the strategic direction for the Litigation and Employment teams and oversee performance to ensure key business objectives are met. Performing and managing all litigation activities on assigned matters through the trial and appellate stages, including among other things research, pleadings, motions, discovery, depositions, conferences, trials, mediations, arbitrations, and appeals. Managing an annual litigation budget and expenses. Recommending key legal and/or litigation strategies and resolutions to senior management and the Board. Being charged with overseeing internal procedures and standards for document discovery and preparing and reviewing court filings. Developing trial strategies and keep team current on a wide range of best practices. Full management responsibility of professional staff (attracting, retaining, and developing talent). Manage multiple, large-scale and complex litigation, as well as teams (with both internal and external partners). Select and manage outside counsel. Guide and advise team members in the more complex phases of work. Embody utmost collaboration, active listening, and strategic thought, and develop these skill sets in team.
