The candidate will maintain client communication on a regular basis. Gather and analyze intake information, as well as relevant documents associated with new files and enter pertinent information into case management software. Initiate claims, verify coverage, and maintain communication with insurance adjusters to provide case status updates. Maintain a checklist of standard tasks and reminders associated with cases assigned to you, through our case management software. Coordinates investigation of defendant’s insurance coverage. Input and maintain health insurance liens. Prepare documents and correspondence such as letters of representation, demand letters, billing inquiries, etc. Assist clients in coordinating medical care for injuries associated with their case. Input and track all expenses associated with client files by utilizing case management software. Collect documentation of all damages sustained such as medical records, bills and loss of wages. Review and interpret medical records and reports. Draft settlement demands for attorney review. Update case details regarding demands, settlements and closings on a regular basis by utilizing case management software. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, all paralegals/legal assistants are required to meet specific daily goals with regards to using our case management software. These goals include making a minimum of 50 case notes a day, saving scanned documents to cases within 3 days of receipt, and performing tasks within 3 days after appearing on your checklist. Meets with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects. Drafts legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories; files motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures. Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provides written analysis to attorneys. Interviews clients and witnesses and prepares summaries of their statements. Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items. Assists attorneys with trial preparation, which may include attending trials and hearings. Develops and maintains Attorney calendars. For paralegal, Paralegal Certification is required and ideally have 2 years or related experience and/or training. For legal assistant, High School Diploma or equivalent and ideally have 2 years or related experience and/or training.
