Job Overview

A law firm seeks two Litigation Attorneys for its busy Colorado Springs office. The ideal candidates will have experience in insurance defense litigation, including defending first and third-party claims, drafting coverage analyses, and conducting depositions and court hearings in both state and federal court. Strong research, writing, and independent thinking skills are essential. Candidates must be prepared to assume primary responsibility for all aspects of their cases, from pre-litigation analysis through trial and appeal. Must be licensed to practice law in Colorado.

Duties

• Analyze complex legal and factual issues and conduct extensive legal research.
• Prepare complex pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motions, and briefs.
• Provide effective and timely communications and legal advice to clients and claims specialists.
• Communicate with the court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel.
• Ensure prompt, efficient, and effective disposition of assigned cases.
• Assist in preparing and presenting witnesses and evidence at trials and hearings.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in insurance defense.
• Litigation experience required.
• Strong writing skills.
• Excellent work ethic.

Education

• Bachelor's degree with J.D.
• Admission to the bar in Colorado.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Colorado.

Skills

• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and track billable hours using electronic practice management software.
