Defense Litigation Attorney

Profile

A law firm seeks an experienced Defense Litigation Attorney to join its Southern California-based litigation team. This hybrid position offers a balance of remote and in-office work, with two days per week required in the office. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of defense litigation experience, with a focus on product liability, toxic tort, or general liability. Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, are essential.

Duties:

• Handle a caseload of defense litigation matters, with a focus on product liability, toxic tort, and general liability.
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
• Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and trials.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
• Work closely with other attorneys and staff in a team environment.
• Provide strategic advice and legal counsel to clients.
• Manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently, with attention to detail.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in defense litigation, with a preference for product liability, toxic tort, or general liability experience.
• Ability to manage a variety of litigation matters and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Self-starter with the drive to handle complex cases.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be admitted to practice law in California.

Skills:

• Strong experience in defense litigation.
• Proficient in legal research, writing, and drafting motions.
• Knowledge of product liability, toxic tort, and general liability law is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
