Job Overview

A leading law firm is seeking a Senior Associate or Counsel with more than 6 years of experience in commercial real estate transactions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, sale-leaseback structures, and real estate due diligence. Experience with real estate aspects of M&A transactions is highly valued. This is a strategic role for a senior-level attorney looking to work closely with sophisticated clients on complex real estate matters.

Duties

  • Handle a wide range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing

  • Advise on real estate matters related to mergers and acquisitions

  • Structure and negotiate sale-leaseback transactions

  • Lead real estate due diligence efforts, including review of title, survey, and zoning documents

  • Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, lease agreements, and ancillary documents

  • Collaborate with corporate, tax, and finance teams in multi-disciplinary deal structures

Requirements

  • Over 6 years of experience practicing commercial real estate law

  • Strong background in transactional work, particularly in the context of M&A

  • Proven experience with sale-leasebacks, leasing, and real estate development or investment transactions

  • Ability to lead transactions and manage client relationships independently

  • Experience reviewing and resolving title and survey issues

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications

  • Active member of the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

Skills

  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills

  • Deep understanding of real estate legal principles and transactional frameworks

  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to manage multiple complex matters

  • Effective communication and client relationship management abilities

  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a cross-functional team
