The role involves working closely with partners and staff in a collaborative environment, managing matters from intake through completion.

Duties

• Draft estate planning documents including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
• Meet with clients to assess goals and provide tailored estate planning strategies.
• Administer probate estates and trusts from opening through final distribution.
• Prepare and file court pleadings and related documentation.
• Draft and review real estate and business transaction documents.
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda and correspondence.
• Manage case files, deadlines, and client communications efficiently.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in South Dakota or willingness to become licensed.
• Experience or strong interest in estate planning and transactional work.
• Strong drafting, analytical, and legal research skills.
• Excellent communication and client service skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
• Law firm experience preferred, but not required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in South Dakota or ability to obtain one.
