Job Title: Family Law Attorney - Hybrid/Remote Opportunity

Job Overview:
A Houston-based law firm is seeking a dynamic and experienced Family Law Attorney to support its continued expansion across Texas. This full-time hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of family law matters while contributing to a client-focused, mission-driven legal team. Ideal candidates will have recent hands-on litigation experience, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for guiding clients through challenging transitions.

Duties:

  • Handle family law cases from initial consultation through final resolution, including trial

  • Conduct client consultations, mediations, hearings, and court appearances

  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and final orders

  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients, offering clear and empathetic legal guidance

  • Participate in firm growth through quality representation and client referrals

  • Attend in-person obligations as needed, such as mediations, court hearings, and consultations

  • Collaborate with firm leadership to support ongoing legal education and mentorship initiatives

  • Complete additional tasks related to case management and team collaboration

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in Texas, in good standing

  • Minimum 2 years of recent, hands-on experience in family law

  • Proficiency in courtroom procedures and oral advocacy

  • Familiarity with drafting family law pleadings and using legal form software (e.g., Westlaw Form Builder)

  • Capable of managing a caseload independently while maintaining attention to detail

  • Demonstrated commitment to client service and problem-solving

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Texas Bar Admission (required)

  • Board Certification in Family Law (preferred but not required)

Skills:

  • Legal research and writing

  • Case strategy and trial preparation

  • Client counseling and empathy

  • Familiarity with Texas family law codes and local court procedures

  • Time management in a hybrid work setting

  • Business development and client relationship management (a plus)

Job Location:

  • Houston, TX (Montrose area)

  • Hybrid schedule: In-office 3 days per week, remote 2 days per week

  • Travel to courts and client meetings in surrounding counties as needed
