The ideal candidate should possess a strong technical or scientific background, with a preference for advanced degrees in life sciences or technical fields like electrical engineering, computer science, or mechanical engineering. The Patent Litigation Associate Attorney should have 3-4 years of patent litigation experience and maintain an active membership in the State Bar while complying with CLE requirements. Exceptional writing skills and a proven record of excellent academic credentials are essential for this role. The successful candidate will thrive in conducting complex and detailed legal analysis, have a knack for effective communication with diverse clients, attorneys, and staff, and be enthusiastic about contributing to a collaborative team-oriented environment.

Duties:

  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis related to patent litigation cases.
  • Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards.
  • Participate in client meetings and effectively communicate legal strategies and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on all aspects of patent litigation cases, including case strategy, discovery, and trial preparation.
  • Attend court hearings and depositions, representing the firm and clients in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
  • Maintain thorough case files and documents, ensuring organization and accessibility.
  • Provide clients with regular updates on case progress and developments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with a strong technical or scientific background.
  • An advanced degree in life sciences or related fields is preferred for candidates with a life sciences background.
  • An advanced degree in electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field is preferred for technical backgrounds.
  • 3-4 years of experience in patent litigation.
  • Active membership in the State Bar and compliance with CLE requirements.
  • Superior writing skills and excellent academic credentials.

Certifications:

  • State Bar membership.
