Duties: The candidate will provide extended representation and advice on a wide range of issues including audits, innocent spouse relief, collection due process hearings, and more, at all levels within the IRS and US Tax Court. Provide education to taxpayers on a variety of topics such as the Earned Income Credit and Child Tax Credit. Provide other legal assistance and community legal education to low-income people in other practice areas, depending on program needs. Assistance ranges from providing counsel and advice to representation before various agencies and courts. Areas of priority established by the Firm’s Board of Directors include income maintenance programs, housing, health care, domestic violence, education, individual rights, and selected consumer issues.
