A law firm seeks a highly motivated Associate Attorney to join their Tyler, TX office. The successful candidate will represent clients in the collection of ad valorem taxes and other governmental receivables. This position offers the opportunity to work in a supportive team environment, with training provided for the right individual.

Duties:

• Prepare and review legal documents related to suit initiation and management.
• Engage in motion practice and discovery processes.
• Manage a substantial caseload, ensuring timely progress through trial and appellate processes.
• Represent clients in tax court, District Courts, and courts in surrounding counties.
• Foster client development through effective communication and interaction.
• Maintain a strong work ethic and demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Travel locally during the day, with occasional evening events and overnight travel as required.

Requirements:

• 0-5 years of litigation experience.
• Familiarity with or interest in the collection of ad valorem taxes and other governmental receivables, as well as applicable laws related to local government entities.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the state bar where the position is located.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and writing abilities, with a focus on legal documentation.
