What’s the role?

The role of the Commercial Manager position is to maximize the profitability of our retail Americas network in preferred market areas. The key challenge is to safely grow the business in alignment with our Retail’s 2025 Ambitions. Key success factors include developing strategies and tactics to drive growth in sales, profitability and partnerships ensuring best in class delivery of our customer promises and excellent implementation of our marketing programs.

Key Accountabilities:

Lead & motivate others to grow the business to its maximum potential ensuring that Shell is seen as the 'best' fuel partner to work with as we all WIN together.

Raise the level of commitment with hearts and minds to our Brand and HSSE standards. Reward & Recognize those who provide leadership and instigate remedial action plans where necessary.

Work closely with Network Delivery, JV team, Operations Support, Pricing Management and Marketing to maximize all levers and programs in order to ultimately maximize profitability.

Engage a wide range of key internal and external stakeholders to help you manage the business in the most effective and efficient manner - Channel Manager, Pricing Administration, Supply & Distribution, Marketing, Fleet Card programs,

Provide leadership and support for many trials, tests and new programs.

Requirements:

What we need from you

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

Minimum 10 years of related work experience.

Prior experience in Retail is required for this selection.

Excellent 'relationship' skills. (Coaching, Leading & Motivating teams to deliver results)

Strong commercial acumen and proven track record in delivering results through others.

Experience managing / influencing many stakeholders in support of business goals.

Ability to lead an experienced team of professionals who lead an experienced group of independent business partners.

Demonstrated ability to find ways of achieving results that have never been achieved before - finding the way to WIN with many changing dynamics both in the marketplace and internally.

Strong financial management and analytical skills with experience making decisions based on retail economics

Experience in other Downstream businesses especially in Supply & Distribution is an asset.
