Job Overview:
A highly regarded law firm in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a motivated and compassionate Immigration Attorney focused on EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review) proceedings. This is a full-time opportunity for an admitted attorney to manage a robust caseload, represent detained and non-detained clients in removal proceedings, and collaborate closely with a team of experienced immigration attorneys and legal assistants. The position offers a supportive environment with room for growth and development in a mission-driven legal practice.

Location:

  • Los Angeles, California

Duties:

  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals

  • Prepare legal briefs and immigration applications related to removal defense and family-based immigration

  • Conduct legal research, case strategy, and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS appearances

  • Visit detention centers to conduct intake interviews with detained individuals

  • Provide legal analysis to identify case eligibility and potential immigration benefits

  • Review and revise immigration petitions and filings

  • Meet with prospective clients to provide consultations and recommend legal strategies

  • Work collaboratively with team members including attorneys and legal assistants

  • Maintain accurate records using case management software

  • Provide community outreach and education on immigration law changes, when needed

Requirements:

  • 1–5 years of experience practicing immigration law

  • Strong understanding of EOIR procedures and family-based immigration

  • Ability to manage a caseload independently while meeting deadlines

  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset

  • Willingness to travel locally to detention centers as needed

  • Passion for immigration law and advocacy

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

  • California Bar admission preferred but not required

Skills:

  • Strong legal writing, oral advocacy, and analytical skills

  • High-level interpersonal and communication abilities

  • Experience with USCIS, EOIR, detained and non-detained immigration cases

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

  • Familiarity with immigration case management software is a plus
