Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage Complex Cases: Handle high exposure, catastrophic personal injury cases, including products liability and general negligence.
  • Deposition Management: Take and defend expert and witness depositions, ensuring thorough preparation and effective examination.
  • Draft Legal Documents: Draft original motions, litigation-related documents, and discovery requests and responses for complex matters.
  • Develop Client Relationships: Establish and maintain strong client relationships through effective oral and written communication.
  • Trial Preparation: Prepare for trial by developing motions in limine, exhibit lists, witness lists, and other trial-related documents.
  • Case Strategy: Develop and implement case strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other attorneys and support staff to manage case progress and ensure comprehensive representation.
  • Legal Research: Conduct in-depth legal research to support case arguments and strategies.
  • Client Communication: Provide regular updates to clients, addressing their concerns and managing their expectations.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in asbestos or toxic tort litigation, with a proven ability to handle complex, high-stakes cases.
  • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a top law school.
  • Licensure: Active membership in good standing with the California Bar.
  • Skills: Superior written and oral communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Billable Work Environment: Experience working in a billable work environment, demonstrating efficiency and productivity.

  • In-depth knowledge of toxic tort and asbestos litigation procedures and best practices.
  • Proficiency in drafting complex legal documents, including motions, discovery requests, and trial preparation materials.
