Licensing Services Coordinator
Responsibilities: Utilizes the Sophia software tool to maintain the patent docket and an accurate hosting of IP status details. Reviews related matters in database and creates reports concerning such information as needed. Assists with the prosecution of patents. Conducts on-line patent and trademark searches. Organizes and maintains details to assist with reporting of patent metrics. Evaluates project-specific IP landscape and makes recommendations to assist in IP action decisions. Tracks correspondence, assists with the tracking and reporting of contracts, and maintains accurate electronic and hard copy records. Assists with drafting of licensing agreements. Supports staff with review and monitoring of agreement compliance issues and coordinates actionable items with Technology Commercialization. Assists with compliance, tracking, and monitoring of government reporting requirements. Serves as a liaison between outside counsel, licensing personnel, and licensees concerning agreements and IP prosecution matters. Coordinates receipt, review, and tracking of intellectual property actions between outside counsel, TTC, and TAMIP. Interacts with development officers, Sponsored Research Services, System members, and academic departments/colleges as a resource for intellectual property matters. Assists in mentoring the commercialization staff related to proposed terms for licenses and options. Assists the Licensing Managers and Program Manager in increasing the general awareness of intellectual property issues by the campus community. Provides services to the campus community on all intellectual property related issues.
