Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an experienced Banking Attorney with 4-8 years of experience in commercial finance, real estate, and corporate transactional matters. This position offers the opportunity to work in either the Detroit or Troy office locations. The successful candidate will work closely with supervising attorneys to represent banks, financial institutions, and borrowers in a variety of commercial loan, real estate finance, and equipment leasing matters.

Location:

• Detroit, MI

Duties:

• Draft and negotiate loan and equipment lease documents.

• Review corporate due diligence, including UCC lien searches, organizational documents, certificates of good standing, and litigation searches.

• Conduct real estate due diligence, including reviewing title documents and surveys.

• Assist with loan and equipment lease closings.

• Perform legal research to support case strategy and ensure compliance.

Requirements:

• 4-8 years of experience in commercial finance, real estate, and/or corporate transactional matters.

• Admission to the Michigan Bar.

• Excellent academic credentials and strong professional background.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Michigan Bar.

Skills:

• Strong drafting and negotiation skills in commercial loan and equipment lease documents.

• Ability to review and analyze corporate and real estate due diligence.

• Excellent legal research and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
