Coverage Attorney

Profile

A law firm seeks a Coverage Attorney for their San Francisco, CA office. The Coverage Attorney will investigate, research, and prepare reports and analysis on complex matters involving professional liability claims, including claims against construction and design firms. They will analyze complex insurance contracts and policy forms, apply policy contract terms to various claim scenarios, remain current on legislative trends and court decisions, provide timely updates and recommendations, produce comprehensive written opinions, work with claims management to provide expert legal advice, deliver high-quality work product, and perform other duties as assigned.

Duties:

• Investigate, research, and prepare reports on professional liability claims
• Analyze complex insurance contracts and policy forms
• Apply policy contract terms to claim scenarios
• Remain current on legislative trends and court decisions
• Produce comprehensive written opinions and recommendations
• Work with claims management to provide legal advice
• Deliver high-quality work product within defined service level agreements
• Perform other assigned duties

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• California state licensed attorney in good standing
• 3+ years of legal experience
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and research skills
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
• Experience interpreting insurance policies, drafting coverage opinions, and litigating coverage matters preferred
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Experience in conflict resolution and complex problem scenarios
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

California state licensed attorney in good standing
