A respected labor and employment law firm is seeking a Traditional Labor Law Associate Attorney to join its Los Angeles office. Duties:
Represent employers in traditional labor law matters, including NLRB proceedings
Handle unfair labor practice charges, elections, grievances, and arbitration
Advise on union organizing, neutrality agreements, and collective bargaining
Provide legal guidance on wage and hour compliance, leave laws, and workplace accommodations
Draft and review employee handbooks, policies, compensation, and bonus plans
Conduct management training on labor law, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation issues
Participate in due diligence for workplace law compliance during mergers/acquisitions
Engage in legal research and prepare memos, briefs, and other written work
May involve travel for hearings, training, or client matters
Requirements:
4 to 6 years of experience in litigation or employment law counseling
Experience in traditional labor law preferred
Familiarity with federal and California employment laws
Understanding of agency enforcement practices (state and federal) preferred
Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
Certifications:
Active and in good standing with the California State Bar
Skills:
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational and project management abilities
Ability to provide strategic, business-minded legal advice
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required
