Responsibilities: Provide internal advice and legal counsel on general compensation and benefits plans and policies. Researches, reviews, and drafts responses to disputes regarding benefits plans and third party administrators, including overseeing outside counsel handling benefits related litigation. Prepares and evaluates regulatory filings and related documents. Monitors and keeps track of ERISA regulations, HIPAA, and privacy laws. Reviews and revises summary plan descriptions for company-sponsored employee benefit plans and reviews related benefits and/or compensation communications. Works with team members in support of any Mergers and Acquisition components related to compensation and or total benefit offerings and policies. Develops and delivers training related to areas of responsibility. Stay abreast of all existing, new, and proposed legislation related to employment, compensation, and benefits matters at the federal, state and local levels.
