A law firm is seeking a Technology Specialist for their Houston, TX office.

Job Overview:

The Technology Specialist will support the firm's patent prosecution efforts by drafting patent applications, corresponding with patent offices, advising on patent litigation matters, and conducting inventor interviews. This position requires a strong background in molecular biology, immunology, genetics, or a related biotech field and a demonstrated track record in patent prosecution.

Duties:

• Draft patent applications for innovative clients, including descriptions and figures.
• Correspond with the patent office about pending patent applications.
• Advise patent litigation teams based on your technical and scientific area of expertise.
• Interview inventors about new ideas.

Requirements:

• A Ph.D. in molecular biology, immunology, genetics, or a biotech-related field.
• 3+ years of patent prosecution experience.
• Superior writing skills and excellent academic credentials.
• Registered before the U.S. Patent & Trademark office.

Education & Certifications:

• PhD in molecular biology, immunology, genetics, or a biotech-related field.
• Registration before the U.S. Patent & Trademark office.

Skills:

• Proficiency in drafting patent applications.
• Strong scientific and technical knowledge in molecular biology, immunology, genetics, or related fields.
• Excellent communication skills for corresponding with patent offices and advising litigation teams.
• Ability to conduct thorough inventor interviews.
• Detail-oriented with superior writing skills.
