Defense Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks a motivated and skilled Defense Litigation Associate Attorney to join their Bridgeport, CT office. Location: Bridgeport, CT (Hybrid remote option available)

Duties:

• Handle all aspects of defense litigation, including insurance defense and professional liability cases.
• Assist with the preparation and review of legal documents such as motions, briefs, and discovery materials.
• Participate in all stages of litigation, from pretrial preparation to trial and settlement negotiations.
• Work closely with senior attorneys, gaining exposure to client interactions and case strategy.
• Conduct legal research, draft memoranda, and assist in developing case strategies.
• Represent clients in court hearings and depositions as necessary.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure effective case management and resolution.
• Maintain timely and accurate records of case progress and legal proceedings.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of litigation experience, with a focus on defense and professional liability preferred.
• Must be admitted to the Connecticut State Bar.
• Excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills.
• Experience in all stages of litigation is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated with a goal-oriented approach.
• Clerkship experience is an added advantage.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership with the Connecticut State Bar.

Skills:
