Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join its medical malpractice and long-term care defense team in Chicago. This hybrid role is suited for a motivated attorney with 3–6 years of experience in defense litigation who is eager to handle complex matters from inception to resolution. The successful candidate will work closely with seasoned litigators in a collaborative and professional environment, with in-office attendance required at least one day per week.

Duties:
Handle all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
Represent clients in medical malpractice, nursing home, and long-term care matters
Work directly with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel to strategize and resolve cases
Draft legal documents such as motions, responses, and memoranda
Attend hearings, mediations, and trials as necessary
Collaborate with legal teams to provide comprehensive defense solutions
Requirements:
3–6 years of defense litigation experience
Experience and/or strong interest in medical malpractice and long-term care litigation
Proven ability to manage a case from initial intake through resolution
Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the state of Illinois
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
Certifications:
Admission to the Illinois State Bar is required
